Gross Salary Deduction - Bruttolønsordning
If your employer will not be fully financing your Executive MBA, there is a tax benefit programme called at "bruttolønsordning" that can be utilised in Denmark.
You can either finance your entire Executive MBA as a gross salary benefit or make a deal with your employer to finance 50% of the programme and you can finance the other 50% utilising the gross salary tax benefit.
*Note - In Denmark it is not permissable to fully fund a professional development education like the Executive MBA utilising the "bruttolønsordning." Read the relevant rules regarding this on the Danish tax website SKAT (in Danish).
What is the gross salary deduction "bruttolønsordning"?
The gross salary deduction is a tax benefit that allows you to treat the cost of the Executive MBA as a gross salary expense. In practical terms, this means the cost of the EMBA programme is deducted before tax is calculated.
This will result in significant savings for you and/or your employer. Another advantage of choosing the gross salary deduction is the option to spread payments monthly, rather than paying a lump sum before the start of each stage
If you choose to partially self-finance your Executive MBA via the gross salary deduction, your organisation will not be liable for any expenses.
